Over 2,000 Visitors at the 12th Brač Film Festival: The Pavilion and Crystal Planet Take the Top Awards

Supetar, 9 August 2026. — With record attendance, sold-out screenings and over 2,000 visitors across the festival days, the 12th edition of Brač Film Festival has drawn to a close. Supetar once again became a meeting point for audiences and filmmakers, with many notable guests from the regional film scene in attendance, including Zijah Sokolović, Mirjana Karanović, Ksenija Pajić, Snježana Sinovčić-Šiškov, Aleksandra Janković and Slavko Sobin.

This year's winners were selected by the audience, who voted for the best films of the 12th BFF. The Audience Award for Best Feature Film went to The Pavilion, directed by Dino Mustafić — the award was accepted by actors Zijah Sokolović and co-producer Igor Vranjković. In the short film competition, As If I'm Not There, directed by Milica Vujasin, received the most votes. The youngest festival audience also had their say, and the Audience Award for Best Children's Film went to Crystal Planet, directed by Arsen Anton Ostojić. The awards were presented at the closing ceremony in Supetar.

This year's festival recorded a strong growth in audiences, confirming the continued development of an event that has been bringing Croatian and regional filmmakers, actors and some of the most exciting new titles to the island of Brač for twelve years. Particularly heartening was the strong public interest across all programme segments — from morning screenings for children and young audiences to the evening programme at Ljetno kino Supetar, where every night's showing was full to capacity.

"This is definitively one of the most successful editions of the Festival to date. Over 2,000 visitors, sold-out screenings and full cinemas are the best confirmation that the audience recognises what we have been building for twelve years. What makes me especially proud is that BFF today is not just a place where people come to watch films — it is a place where filmmakers and actors want to return, and where audiences can meet them in a relaxed, immediate atmosphere. I believe we have taken another significant step forward this year."

Alongside the film programme, the festival once again brought a rich supporting programme of author meet-and-greets, while the Lemonish Day Lounge served throughout the week as a gathering point for guests, filmmakers and visitors alike. The combination of film, the Mediterranean atmosphere of Supetar and direct audience-author contact remains one of the defining qualities of Brač Film Festival.

With its twelfth edition, Brač Film Festival has continued a growth that began over a decade ago, confirming its position as a gathering place for new filmmaking talent, established names of regional cinema and an ever-growing audience.

Following this record-breaking edition, the organisers have already announced the continuation of the Festival, with the 13th Brač Film Festival set to return to Supetar in the summer of 2027.
