A Retirement Home Goes to War

Pavilion is a sharp black comedy about a group of elderly residents in a crumbling retirement home who have had enough. For years they've endured abuse, neglect, and humiliation from a corrupt staff and administration. Left in the cold of winter without heating or basic necessities, they decide they have nothing left to lose.

Their response is radical: they smuggle weapons into the home, take the staff hostage, and enter an armed standoff with the authorities. What begins as a desperate fight for basic human dignity quickly spirals into a national media and political spectacle — one that forces the entire country to confront how it treats its most vulnerable.

Directed by Dino Mustafić, Pavilion is a darkly funny and deeply humane film — a story of resistance that finds its power in the most unlikely of heroes.
